With Thankfulness

Greetings All,

As we get closer to the end of 2008, let us reflect on the many great and not so great things that has happened this year thus far. Let's not ponder on the what could have been, but what is. For instance, our lives, our health, and our strength. Another day to rise up and spend with our loved ones. Living life as we know it. There are so many with circumstances and situations dire than our own. Let us remember to make a note that when the Grace is being said to be thankful for the little things. To pray for those who are in a greater need than our own to be blessed beyond their imaginations, and that good things are in store for them.

I am truly thankful for my life, my family, and most of all being given the opportunity to share with my readers. Yes, YOU! Thank you for all your support, to those within the US and beyond its borders. Last but not in the least, I have to thank God for the gift he has given me to bless others. With this gift I was able to make new friends and connect with others in the industry beyond my wildest dreams and then some.

So with that being conveyed, let's be thankful for even the little things. That's just the prerequisite for us to obtain so much more!

Have a Happy & Safe Thanksgiving!

Remembering My Childhood

Greetings All,

As the days are fast approaching to the holidays, and with the New Year soon upon us, I am literally taken aback. I can't believe how time just escapes, yet it's not hard to believe at all. Of the things I had set out to accomplish this year, I can say that I may have reached 80%. My where does the time go?

Just to digress a bit, and break up the monotony: I was on the Internet doing some research and came across this really cool clip of a TV show that as a child, I grew up watching. This was one of my favorite shows and the theme song's not bad at all. It made me think back to Summers and how things use to be. Cherry Italian Ices, Penny Candies, Tag-Your-It, and playing in the Water Hydrant. You remember those days right?

In lieu of revealing my age, do you think there could be a possibility, that I may be a bit nostalgic?

Do any of you know who this Actress is? ;-)

Protecting Your Dreams

Did you ever wonder what you would do, if the bridal shop where your ordered your dress from, or the florist where you purchased your dream bouquet, or the entertainment company that you booked for your special day went out of business weeks to days before your event?

No one ever expects the unfortunate to happen on the day of their wedding. Nor the days or weeks leading up to it. It's better to be safe and secure your dreams than to be sorry. For as little as a $160... you can help to ensure that your day goes as planned. Insure your dreams for own your peace of mind.

Why is wedding insurance so important?

Well for reasons other than the ones listed above, but not limited to; what should happen if someone fell or hurt themselves? For instance, if you are an outdoors type and decided to have your event at an Off-Prem location. For example; a beach, or park. Someone elses' clumsiness or irresponsibility could wind up being your price to pay. Note: Even though no one expects these mishaps to occur, unfortunately they do. You should give considerable thought to " In case something should go wrong, would I be protected?" Regardless of where you chose to celebrate your nuptials, or the vendors that you choose, the possibilities are endless. There is no other assurance than insurance for your special day and your Peace of Mind. Another tip, if you can try to pay for everything with your credit card, for your own protection, do so. It's a binding record keeper.

Furthermore, plan ahead, research, and do the foot work to secure your dreams. So much work, time, and effort goes into planning your special day. Plan for the unexpected. So much of your heart and soul is vested in the entire process of planning your wedding. Even what you think may be a small and insignificant detail, could be the one thing that can wipe out your dreams.

After all they are your Dreams and nothing should be left to chance!

Happy Planning!

History Made

I remember sitting on my sofa last night praying. Not praying for one particular person or thing, but for the the best candidate and for a turn around in our economy and our nation as a whole.

Going to the poll that morning I was literally shocked and amazed at the lines. No really, I've never seen anything like that before. Well in my time at least. As the evening progressed and I tried to stay up to see the end result, reluctantly I retired into a restless slumber. However a few minutes after eleven, I awoke to my cell phone ringing, and the television, declaring the new President Elect, Barack Obama. I was suddenly overcome with emotion and started to cry when the text messages came one after the other to my phone. Even though I don't have text service on my account, it didn't bother me much as I witnessed this historical event. I was both excited, amazed, and humbled.

One message stood out to me mostly from a unnamed source "We must all remember and praise GOD for this special moment in history, our ancestors that struggled so hard to get us to this point in time. We must strive to continue this life changing event by embracing one another with love and support as our African American President Barack Obama face with difficult and challenging times ahead. PRAISE GOD!!!"

What that meant for me is that no matter what color, race, creed, or religion that we are all have had struggles at one point or another. But from this day forward we ought to embrace each other as Americans and unite for the good of our country. It is without a doubt that this very thing happen according to purpose and plan, and we should be thankful for it. We must also be thankful that this country will in fact embark upon change, and it's up to us to assist in it's process. We must also remain prayerful for the new Commander in Chief, and his family as well. Now more than ever. In actuality we must pray for the person who sits next to us on the bus, or that homeless person in search of his or her next meal. The single mother, the single father, or that displaced war veteran. Bottom line, we must pray for one another in spite of our difference and circumstances.

I won't lie to you, I am honored to be a part of this very historical event and even more so at the very small part that I will play in contributing to the change to come.
