Superstition

su·per·sti·tion n.
An irrational belief that an object, action, or circumstance not logically related to a course of events influences its outcome.

1. A belief, practice, or rite irrationally maintained by ignorance of the laws of nature or by faith in magic or chance.
2. A fearful or abject state of mind resulting from such ignorance or irrationality.
3. Idolatry.

Did you know...

It was thought unlucky for a woman to marry a man whose surname began with the same letter as her own. This was summarize in the following rhyme:

To change the name and not the letter
Is to change for the worst and not the better


What were they thinking? Honestly. To think, how many really lost out on true love because they followed this to heart. Today brides-to-be are more than thrilled to be joined with the man of their dreams and sharing the same initials are an added bonus.
