Monday Memoirs

My Dear Beloved,

I hope the summer days has been good to you and that you are having the time of your life planning your wedding. It's seems that there is so much to do in the little time that we have to accomplish our normal daily tasks on a day-to-day basis'. However, when you add planning a wedding in addition to work, school, and/or taking care of a family it's seems that one would no doubt have their work cut out for them. In instances like these, it would be best to get a head start by organizing your plans and keep them accessible and adaptable. For example, I would like to encourage you if you have not done so already, to get yourself a binder, preferably a 3-ring and one that matches your color palette. Here's what you'll need as well:

1. Up to 10 Sectional or more (these can be color coded or labeled), one for each category. For example: (Budget Guidelines, Time lines, Bridal Attire, Ceremony Venue, Floral Designer, Photographer, Band, etc).

2. Pocket Inserts - to hold your invitation set, ribbons and any other knickknacks.

3. Card Holders - to collect info on all your vendors

4. Notebook Paper - to go in each section. This would be ideal to document all ideas and minutes from meetings, and conference calls. It will also be a good place to document your next follow up.

5. Weekly To-DO-LIST - this is ideal for keeping you on track with the things you need to do. Places to visit in person or on the world wide web.

6. Photo holders - To collect images for ideas for your day. Also a great record keeper for your finds and vendor visits.
Plus More...

And lastly, create an Inspiration Board. Collect your hues, centerpiece ideas, floral choices, and much more. In creating your inspiration board, you begin the Blueprint or Dream map for your special day. How do I do this you may ask? Well, you know those bridal magazines that you peruse to get your inspirations? Now you have a reason to rip those pages right on out and with incident.

I created this Fall Inspiration Board:

So with better time management and wedding planning tools in hand, you're off to a terrific start in planning your wedding. If you don't have the time to actually pull together a binder for yourself you can find great ones sold by Mindy Weiss and Martha Stewart.

Happy Planning!
