New Blog Design

Greetings All!

As you can probably see... Memoirs has gotten herself a face lift. Thanks so much to the tech savvy and creative graphic design efforts of Hilary Craner of Simply Yours Designs we are pleased to unveil our new design. I love everything about this blog. Especially, the sidebar title designs and not to mention of header. If anyone knows me, they know this is a true representation of me.

Hilary does amazing work. Not only does she provide exceptional customer service, she truly listens. A Gold Mine and Rarity at best. Should you need a new blog design, I highly recommend her. You will not be disappointed. To see more of Hilary's work visit her online shop here.

Note: To get the full effect of the redesign you'll have to download Safari to see it. I was having a hard viewing it through Internet Explorer until Hilary gave me the tip. Great tech support too! You gotta love it!

Vera Wang Fine Papers

I love a good Stock... Paper that is.

Anyone who knows me, knows how much this is a thrill for me. Parchment, vellum, and ribbon. Ah.. the joy of keepsake pieces. I fell in love... with Vera Wang's Wedding Papers.

It's so important that you find pieces that you can connect to on some level or another on your special day. "Channel" your style so that it reflects throughout your entire event. This little detail can take on a whole new meaning of creating your theme, with little or no effort on your part.

Sketch Your Dress

What better way to mark the occasion than to capture the essence of your gown in this beautiful and endearing keepsake. Dreamlines can render a sketch of your wedding ensemble for as little as $100 (USD) a pop. Note that it will not be an exact, but close to it. To learn about this click here.

On the Couture many of the designers are offering this service with a purchase of their masterpiece designs. If you have your heart set on a designer, I encourage you to ask if this is a service available and if it is included with your investment. After all you only marry once, but the memories you can revisit any time you choose too.

One Thing I've Learned...

......Is the invaluableness when one strives for a higher education.

Especially when someone else can benefit from it. In wanting to offer the best to my clients in all aspects of my business, I felt the need to take on additional courses so that I may be able to provide for my clients the absolute best of the best. For the past week or so my head has been in the books (and will be until wedding season officially kicks off for us in May), in addition to reconstructing company packages, as well as my core business structure.

With the expansion of LMEP, we had to without a doubt let out our waist line just a little more. With additional services provided, well you kind of need additional hands. You'll hear more of that in the coming weeks as we narrow down our internship candidates. Furthermore, within our new location we are able to create and design tablescapes (which I am really excited about). This is very important when meeting current and potential clients; for them to step into the prelude of their wedding day. To see, touch, smell, and experience the force that will connect them to the reality of their dreams. We recently had a photo shoot in the new location. I know your curiosity is piqued, so I'll leave you with a few photos. Photos are courtesy of Vaughn Freeman of Visual Mystiqye Photos.

On the horizon:

My New Photos. I am sporting a new haircut.
Launch of New Website
Redesign of Blog
LMEP Table Linen & Chair Cover Rentals
New Studio Tablescape

Until then: I'll leave you with a photo of our March Windowscape.

I look forward to sharing these moments with you.

Letisha & Mark

Letisha contacted me in August to assist her with planning her May 23, 2009 nuptials. After e-mailing each other, we scheduled her comp consult. We met and hit it off. When I finally met Mark, who is a Scorpio by-the-way (he loves all things Scorpio - remember that)and he's hilarious too! He keeps us in stitches all the time.

Furthermore, I was impressed with the amount of time and effort that Letisha had already put into the planning process. Not to mention, she has invigorating ideas and great taste. (Until this day I tell her she should really consider a career as a wedding planner. She's thinking about it).

Letisha chose Cornflower Blue, Gold, & Ivory for her Dreamscape.
Theme: Love is Forever
Details: Crystal Embellishments, Scrolls, Candlelight, Roses and Love. (The other details are under wraps. Shhhhh - It's a surprise!)

Needless to say, I am truly honored to assist this amazing and adorable couple in their plans for their special day! Stay tuned for more blog posts on Letisha & Mark's as their day draws closer.

Amazing Cakes

In my quest to find the most amazing and incredible creations, I came across this beauty. Ever wonder, How in the world did they do that? Well you're not alone. Bakers are getting more creative in ways that we have yet begun to imagine, and leaving the industry stunned in it's stead.

This masterpiece was created by an artist/baker overseas. Artful in a sense of the structure, details, and patience required to complete such a task. As in most instances bakers need days to weeks to prepare. The more elaborate, the longer the process.

In planning for your cake I advise that you take into consideration your Theme. Please note that your cake will be the focal point of your reception and it should fit accordingly as well as tastefully. Discuss with your baker your vision, theme, and decide the type of cake (i,e: yellow, vanilla, chocolate, etc) and filling that you would like to have. Also listen to the suggestions that your baker gives you, after all he/she is the specialist in that area.

Furthermore, whether your guests list is large or small, or if you decide that entertainment is where you wanted to splurge , or if your budget does not allow for such an elaborate, show stopping confection yet you desire to have one; get creative and inventive in your cake planning process. Speak to your baker about options such as dummy cakes for part of your cake, or beautiful styrofoam cake rentals such as seen below and have a sheet cake sliced and brought out to your guests.

It's hard to believe that the cakes above are dummy cakes. Click on the link below each photo to learn more about these fabulous creations. See how easy it is to have both the cake of your dreams and your peace of mind on your wedding day. It's that simple.

Let us draw our attention back to the Amazing Cake above, and focus on the base layer. I didn't even know that they had an ovens in that size!
