Crafted in Love

Okay, tradition says.....but not today.

This wonderful induction to our industry is to date one of the coolest items I have come across. Not too dainty or over the top. It's just right. A great adaptation in lieu of the pillow and a marvel at first glance!

Created by Paloma's Nest, these beauties made in white ceramic are sure to do double the job. One for your young attendant to carry down the aisle, and the second of becoming your modern-day heirloom. With the option to choose from styles of signature designs to special wording, or your name and wedding date engraved, this is truly a win-win. To see more visit Paloma's Nest on Esty.

So say goodbye to tradition of yesterday and get Crafted in Love today!

New Site Launched

Yes it's official. You can see it here. However, there are some technical challenges that we are currently facing. Some of you may be able to access the new site, while others may come across the former "under construction" page. I am working closely with the new site specialists in working out those kinks. Incidentally the music for the site sounds as if it's a rendition of Alvin and the Chipmunks. Of course I'm NLOL.

Furthermore, all e-mail addresses associated with the site are temporarily down. In the interim you can contact me at this alternate e-mail of Lisamichelle001@yahoo.com of feel free to post comments, which I love by the way.

Once this all gets worked out, then and only then will I finally be able to exhale.

Say"I Do" at J. Crew

Imagine that! Your very own wedding specialist at J. Crew. Can it get any better than this? If you decided to use this retailer as your attire specialist you'll get some really great perks. Here's some of what's entailed. Your J. Crew Wedding Specialist will:

* Recommend the best foundation garments for a particular dress.
* Give you specific information about different styles to help you decide
which one is best for you.
* Help you find the right size and the best fit.
* Help you with petite, tall or any other extended size.
* Tell you how much time to allow for alterations and how to locate a
professional tailor.
* Send you swatches upon availability.
* Tell you how to care for your dress.
* Suggest a few thoughtful gifts for your wedding party.
* Try to locate an item you need right away even if it's out of stock.
* Let you know when new shipments are expected.
* Tell you about the colors we'll have in upcoming seasons

To learn more of the what and where of this service, visit the Wedding Specialist page at J. Crew.

To be honest, this retailer never ceases to amaze me. From the adult clothing line to the "Crew Cuts" and now this. I remember a few years back when they started their Bridal Collection with only a few in selection, and now look where they are today. Now I may be biased based on the history that J. Crew and I share.
I'm nostalgic and wish that they had started this line back when I was a wee "Crewster". Those were the days.

Spring Tablescape Design

I just love Spring in New York. Well the warmer weather at least. Not so much of the pollen, rain, or the allergy season that accompanies it. With Spring comes the birth of flowers, wedding season, and of course fashion.

With the new location that I am in I am able to let my creativity flow without limitations. When choosing the theme and color palette for this quarter's Tablescape, I wanted to create elegance with a touch of the whimsical. Going out of the box when in comes to home base is rarely ever an occurrence with me. When it comes to myself, I tend to "Play it Safe". So I'm told. However, with the expansion of the biz, such as rentals of linen, arches, and centerpiece accessories, I figured since I was already on the ledge I might as well take the leap! SO I DID. Still Conservative, but definitely out of the box.

I have posted a few pics for your viewing. Have a look see. Tell me your thoughts, I'd love to hear them.

The silk florals, stationery and favor designs are all handmade products by yours truly through the Dreams & Keepsakes division of LMEP.

Thanks so much for tuning in..

Happy Planning!

Letisha & Mark (Part 2)

Here's another update on this Fab Couple. For the first set of Letisha & Marks' engagement photos, they posed for Vaughn Freeman of Visual Mystique Studios. The day held for overcast skies and was crisp, but the love between these two kept it warm, toasty, and the clouds at bay. Mark had injured his ring finger (yes - oh my!) very badly a few days before in a construction mishap. As always, he kept us in stitches. What a trooper. We had a blast!

I have posted a few photos for your viewing:

Vaughn captured a lot of great shots. Too many of which that could be published here. But some of Leti's favorites are seen here.

This one is my favorite too!

Congrats Guys!

Superstitions & Traditions

tra⋅di⋅tion
 –noun
1.
the handing down of statements, beliefs, legends, customs, information, etc., from generation to generation, esp. by word of mouth or by practice: a story that has come down to us by popular tradition.

Something old, something new,
Something borrowed, something blue,
And a silver sixpence in your shoe

How many of us are so familiar with these words? Throughout the ages this rhyme has traveled all over. From our mothers, and their mothers, and so on. These words will no doubt leave lasting impression in our hearts and memories. Although originated in Victorian times, these customs are still carried out. Here is the first representation:

The "Something Old" represents the couples friends who will hopefully remain close during the marriage. Also as tradition would have it, an old garter formerly worn by a happily married woman would be given to the bride in hope that her happiness in marriage would be passed on to the new bride.

Today - an heirloom hairbrush to be given to the bride to use on the day of her wedding, and cameo broach to be worn on the handle of her bridal bouquet, or a beautiful handkerchief for the wiping of her tears and/or that of her grooms'. Whatever your fancy these items should hold significant value and meaning to the giver as well as the recipient.

With today's' bride these customs are not just for the moments leading up to the ceremony, but can be showcased throughout their entire wedding day. Based on your style and preference you can create this "Something Old" tradition to work for you and the magic of your day.

Here are some ideas to consider when utilizing this tradition with:

A) An Era,

B) Timepiece Items

C) Music

Let's Hear It For The Groom

Now I have seen some pretty amazing things in this industry, but this by far is the most unusual yet masterful take on the Boutonniere yet.

So long to the traditional boutonnieres of yesterday and welcome this creative induction of today by Erin of Rosenow Floral Design, based in the San Francisco Bay Area. The bridal bouquet is the ultimate statement of the bridal party's personal flowers. However, the groom's boutonniere may be small, but it still can present big on style and in sync with his personality. Especially on his big day.

Erin's creations stem from the traditional to the not-so-tradtional. So whether your groom is a High Roller, into Sailing, or even Skiing, there is truly a match made in Rosenow for him. To see more of these Fabulous creations visit Fritts Rosenow Bespoke Boutonnieres. This line was created with the groom's personality in mind.

So let's hear it for the groom and his ability to be creative and uninhibited in expression of himself!

Wednesday Wisdom

"Remember, in all that we do, it is always easier to maintain a good reputation
than to rebuild one."

Generally what we say and do affect all those who we come in contact with and at a much larger scope beyond that. It's so important to do a self inventory of our values and what is truly the motivation behind our actions (Verbal and non-verbal) on a daily basis. This is the prerequisite that will to guide us towards the insight on how we treat others morally and ethically.

In the interim, this will help us to remain true, and project an upright character before all to see. This will create a revolving door of positivity which will be beneficial in every area of our lives.

Happy Living!
