The Brooch Bouquet

The brainchild of Ms. Amanda Heer of Fantasy Floral Designs, this vintage induction to our industry is so unique & remarkable all on it's own. When I picked up the latest issue of the Inside Weddings Magazine, I was blown away by this creation.

Breathtaking and darling, the bride will have the option of choosing each delicate brooch tailored to her personality to fit masterly into her bouquet. Or you have the option of commissioning Ms. Heer to do the honors of selecting the pieces for you.

The investment begins at $300 and varies upon design. To see more of Amanda's work, visit the Fantasy Floral Design site.

Fall In Love ...With Purple

Shoes - J.Crew, Invitations - The 2U Collection

Purple...the color of Royalty. I love, love, love the infusion of the purple and silver palette for fall weddings. These colors are great for accenting with crystals and floral (contrasting or within the same family) hues that POP, as shown above. In addition, to jazz things up a bit, you may consider adding textures and/or prints into your plans. It'll only add to and heighten the ambiance of your day.

Marquila's Save The Dates

Marquila and I met through a mutual contact. I am assisting her in the designing of her fine papers and favors for her February 26, 2010 wedding. Our correspondence first began through email in mid August, where she shared her ideas and wishes for the type of stationery that she desired.

As a creative person, just hearing about the color palette and learning of the personalities involved, the creative bee within me began to leap. Marquila choose the colors of truffle, latte, and ivory for her winter wedding. After speaking on the telephone we decided it was time for a meeting at the studio. We hit it off immediately. As she spoke about the details and ideas of her wedding day, the bee started to buzz out of control.

My first task was to create her save-the-date cards. Marquila opted not to go with any products from our Dreams & Keepsakes collection, but chose to start with a clean slate (which I love, by the way). Using Darren's (the groom) preference to use the symbol of the Ankh, which is the African Cross, I infused Marquila's modern yet chic style, and the end result was the above. I truly had a blast producing them. The design is custom by yours truly, and each card was custom cut to fit in a coordinating envelope.

They were pleased with their save-the-dates and I was overjoyed to assist them in the process. I am super excited to get started on the rest of their Invitation Suite. Stay tuned as I develop more custom designs for their special day.
